Web comics

Been busy with comic work lately, hence the infrequency of my updates but as promised here is a little preview of the latest web comic I've been working on for www.orcomics.com

This is a panel from a new web comic series called The Collabatory check it out! If you like sign up to the forum and let us know what you think of it or any other things on the site.
I'm planning on returning to the print studio soon too, once I get my screen fixed, it got a big tear in it from being stored in the garage :( can't wait to get back screen printing I miss it. Of course the comic work is fun too but it's quite a slow process getting it all put together, I'm sure it will be very satisfying once the work is complete and everyone can enjoy reading it.

Also Ive just downloaded a handy new blogger app for my phone which means I'll be able to update on the go. Which will hopefully mean more updates more often.
Anyway be sure to check out the orcomics website there's been lots of exciting developments.

Been Busy

Work is progressing (if a tad slowly) on Villainous Issue 01. It's looking good if I do say so myself. I will try and give you a sneak peek soon. In other Villainous news the storyboard for issue 02 is finished and ready for final art production just as soon as Issue 01 is out the door. I'm doing the full pencilling, inking and colouring so it takes a bit of time to get each issue done. But it's challenging and fun so I can't complain.

Check out www.orcomics.com for the all new web comic "The Collabatory" a fortnightly series, which is a nice change of pace from the full issues of Villainous. While your there you can also sign up to the forum and let the orcomics team know what you think. Comments and critique are welcome.

There will also be some structural changes to the orcomics website to accomodate the new web comics too, just as soon as I figure out how to do it!

I'll try make my next post less wordy, this is supposed to be my art blog so it makes sense to include lots of pretty pictures. For now its back to the drawing board literally...

Plus I went to Cyprus for 2 weeks so I haven't had much work done art wise, but the good news is the prints studio is back up and running so I just need to book an induction then i can get printing again I can't wait! the only problem is I've been ill for the past week and a bit with flu :(

Its no fun! I'm getting slightly better so I will hopefully be back to full strength in no time.

Work....Work.... Work...

Busy this week getting into the rest of Issue 01 of Villainous. Its coming along pretty good, but as I haven't got much to show at this point ( don't want to spoil it, so you'll just have to wait for the full comic to be finished) I thought I'd show off some digital work I've done, I hope to get them screen printed at some point once the Glasgow Print Studio is back in action.
CMYK XSTINA - only four layers in this one Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. Get it?

Mostly I'm quite happy with them, tho they look maybe a bit to clean, I think once they are printed on some nice rough paper they will take on more character. Any way if I ever get round to screen printing them I'll will show them off.

Oh almost forgot I have added some extra downloadable content to Obscure Reference Comics Website Check it out, the PS3 theme is extra cool :D

San Diego Comic Con

Just back from San Diego... well sort of... Ok its been over a week but I had major jet lag and loads to catch up on at work. So here is my big update enjoy.

The Obscure Reference team showing off a lovely Villainous poster, If you were at comic con you could have picked one up your self, they were in fairly short supply along with copies of the Villainous Prologue 5 page preview comic.

Gary introducing himself to a Sand Person, luckily he didn't scare him off.
I don't know what she's selling but I'll take two :D

Jimmy Daze Comics creator Jimmy Portillo of the excellent independent comics Gabriel and The Railroad Killer. Delighted to receive a copy of the Villainous Prologue Comic. Check out his comics over on the Jimmy Daze Comics myspace page.

At the Lost stand showing off my awesome Villainous Tee, and looking at all the props. Apparently they will all be auctioned off once the show has finished next year. I would have tried to sneak the Hatch out but I don't think it would fit in my suitcase. :(

Gary in his Kilt next to some Dharma Initiative overalls. Get your own Obscure Reference Comics or Villainous tee at the Obscure Reference Comics Shop.

FOX..TIE TIE TIE..... Free fox ties to promote the Fantastic Mr Fox. Don't know when its out or much more than that. Nice freebie tho, I miss random people giving me free stuff :( why can't real life be more like comic con?

Here I am waiting in the line for the Lost Panel, probably the best panel I got to, tho they didn't give much away of whats in store next year like the awesome 24 season 8 preview.

I also meet these lovely ladies a Comic Con, check out their Comic Con Pics on the Suicide Girls website.

If you were at Comic Con and you picked up some Villainous gear give let us know here or on our Facebook or Bebo pages. Also you may want to check out the Obscure Reference Comics report on Comics Con.
